DIY Valentine Card Boxes for the kids Parties at School and a Couple of Sweet Owl Treat bags

Need some cute Valentine Card box ideas for the kids school parties?  Here are a couple of fun ideas you can make at home with upcycled items including coffee cans, toilet paper rolls, shoe boxes, felt, and scrapbook paper!  Let start off with the unicorn first!

I turned a empty coffee tin into a sweet unicorn that my daughter can use at her school party for the Valentine cards her friends give her.  Check out the video below to see how to make it!

Next my daughter and I made a cute monster box for my son using a shoe box, toilet paper rolls, and some Adornit Scrapbook paper.

Open the mouth to pop in the cards.  He thinks that part is the best, and was totally his idea!

I also made some really cute treat bags for the teachers using felt hearts to look like an owl.  The kids filled them with some candies and will take them to school for their teachers.

Back to School Felt Bookmarks & Pencil Cases

Getting ready for back to school?  Check out these couple of fun little felt projects you and your kids can make that are fun and easy.  A cute little felt pencil case and book mark you can make for you kids or for your new teacher.

DIY Bookmarks

Here is a video on easy it is to make these cute bookmarks.

I love that you can make these super easy bookmarks in any colors.  My daughter picked out pink for herself.

My eldest son pick out some fun colors, my personal favorites - BLUE!!  Thee are super easy to make, just pick out some various sizes of circles to make the layers

My youngest son picked out some fun primary colors for his bookmark.  These bookmarks are a great craft with Kunin felt that the kids can practice on to learn how to sew with a button!  I think this version looks a bit like an apple, hehe.

DIY Pencils Cases

Now to to add to the fun I also made some fun pencil cases from Kunin felt.

You can make these by sewing them, here is the video on how to make a sewing version of of these pencils cases.

Let the kids pick out their favorite color of felt and then and a fun Joy Iron on flower or emoji.  This can also be a fun way for the kids to learn how to sew a simple project.  My son pick out blue and and daughter picked out pink with flowers - of course.

I also got a little done with the sewing, so I pulled out my Supertite Fabric Tac glue to the rescue to make my own case, but for me I made a brush case.

DIY Folded Cone Treat Bags for Party Favors or Teacher Gifts

My kids have teacher appreciation this week at their school and I fully believe that our teachers need all the love and support we can give them!!  So a little extra something, even if it is small, means so much....and even more if it is handmade!!  So I made these fun treat bags filled with a little something for the teachers all made from scrapbook supplies!!

I filled these fun little treat bags with some treats the teachers could keep in their desks and not get yucky, so some tea bags, hard candies, and chocolates...plus a few loose flowers for fun.

Each treat bag is made from a section of 12x12 paper from the American Crafts Pink Paislee Confetti Wishes collection cut down to 8x8 inches and folded into a cone (to learn how please see the video).  I used the Xyron Mega runner to help keep the two side stuck together.  It is amazing how a little strip of glue works wonders!!

To hold the cone together to keep all the yummy treats I punched holes using the W R Memory Keepers Big Bite in the top flap and tied it with some matching colored ribbon complete with a cute little tag that complements each cone treat bag.

The tags are made using the American Crafts Bazzill cardstock papers that match the collections and the stickers and chipboard elements from the American Crafts Pink Paislee Confetti Wishes collection.  Some of the stickers and chipboard stuck out on the sides and were still sticky.  Super easy fix, just get out your Xyron Adhesive Eraser and it removes the sticky from the backs of the stickers that you no longer want sticky.  It is like magic!

I just love this American Crafts Pink Paislee Confetti Wishes collection because not only is it filled with amazing tropical papers, but it also works perfect for birthdays.  I did not use any of the "birthday" elements for this project (you know I will at some point), but I am totally in love with the tropical papers and parrots!!!

The fun thing about these DIY treat bags is you can put what ever you like inside them and make them any colors you want!!  Just switch out the stickers and embellishments on the tags and you have cute little birthday treat cones!!
