Mixed Media ATC ** Tattered Angels & Eyelet Outlet & Makin's Clay & EZ Laser Designs & ScrapPlezier & Creative Embellishments**

I am headed to a ATC (artist trading card) swap at the HEIRLOOM NEW BRAUNFELS RUBBER STAMP & PAPER ARTS FESTIVAL® and I thought it would be fun to make a few different types but all with the same idea of black and a color - so I chose yellow, pink, green, and red.

For each sets of cards I choose a main object to work around - the yellow die cut butterfly, black chipboard flower, black and silver clay heart, and pink felt background.  Look below for my video tutorial on the process of these ATCs.

Here is an up close look at each set of cards.

When you use one color with black it really helps these stand out.  Adding to many colors on one small surface gets too busy and you lose the effect of the focal point.  ATC are really fun to make and give you a chance to play with something fun!

Seashell Necklace & Bracelet **Makin's Clay & Tattered Angels & Beacon**

My daughter has been bugging me to play with my "playdoh" again - aka Makin's Clay mostly so she could play too (she loves to play wit the tools).  So when we pulled it all out I asked her what should we make, and her response was a bracelet, well I had to make a necklace to go with it.

So since I got my package of Makin's Clay I have had this itch to try and make canes, they look so cool, but with the air dry clay and how soft it is it can be a bit of a challenge - but I took it on!!  In the video below you will see how I made the clay canes and also how I turned them into beads along with some seashell beads to make it all about the beach and summer.

Once the beads had set for a couple of days to harden I could start stringing them to make the necklace and bracelets - and with some extra silver and blue beads I was able to make 1 necklace, 4 kids sized bracelets, and one tiny bracelet for my daughters baby doll.  Below is my tips and tricks for making the jewelry.

So now she has a cute little bracelet and necklace set ready for this summer and I have 3 for my nieces to give them next month - now to make something for my nephews...

Trio of CAS Cards **Eyelet Outlet & Tattered Angels & Beacon**

Need to make lots cards for a big event, invitations, thank you notes, announcements, or just to have some cards on hand for that last minute party you got invited to?  Look no further.  Here is a trio of card using a black kraft card (4" x 5.5"), washi tape, bling, flowers, brads, and mists that you can reproduce many times over using the same materials for a little cost - and they are fast and easy too!!

Here is a video tutorial on how I made all 3 cards.

The supplies for each card allow you to make more than just one anywhere from 4 to 10 cards per package of bling, brads, or flowers.  Here is each card with the respective supplies.

Kids Science Project - Dino Eggs **Beacon & Tattered Angels**

My son had a science project to do and his project he picked out was all about fossilized dinosaur eggs.  He had to so research on what kind of eggs were found, name of dinosaur, where in the world they were found, size, color, nest type, nest shape, and tons more.  He then wanted to make a replica of the eggs he researched about - putting a hands on spin to things.

My son did not do 100% of the building and molding, but he was apart of all the stages and helped a lot.  Here is the video on how we made thee fun dino eggs.

We used a couple of Beacon products to make these items, makers mix, makers molds, maker colors, and Power-Tac glue to hold the big egg together.

DIY Printable Signs for First and Last Days of School

I love the idea of my kids holding up the sign showing the first and last days of school, school year and grade.  I am not good with a chalkboard, but I am good with paper!!  So when I found this cute website that offered free printable signs to hold up I was game!  Here are my kids on their first and last days holding up their signs.

I did not create the signs they came from a site called Remodelaholic  They had the printable signs for free for the frist and last days of 2015-206 school year.  I am sure there are other sites out there, but this is the one I found for this school year.

It had edges on the papers, so being crafty as I am, i cut each sign and matted them on cardstock.  Here is a video tutorial on how I made the signs.

So if you school year is not over yet, here is a fun idea to get those cute end of year photos of the kids holding signs!!!

DIY Summer Floral Wreath **Creative Embellishments & Beacon**

I love the idea of a fun an floral summer wreath, and with the LOADS of scrapbook flowers I have on hand I thought why not use them for a wreath, saves me from buying flowers and I have a TON of them.  I also had this willow wreath I just found at the Dollar store near me and with the flowers it was a match made in heaven!!

Here is a full video tutorial on how I made this fun wreath.
