"Love of Crafting" Desk Organzier Box **Deflecto & Xyron w/ Basic Grey**

I am in need of storage for my crafty supplies and tools.  Up to this point I have been using cups, jars, tins, and vases to store my various supplies.  They look great but are too small, too wide, too tall, not sturdy, and they are all over taking up to much of a footprint.  Lastly, I did not do anything to them to make them "me".  Now I have a single organizer on my desk (from 3 down to 1), it has 8 separate storage units, and I altered it to make something pretty to look at on my desk!!

Here is a video about I made this super cute little desk organizer for my scrap table!

I used the beautiful "dear HEART" Collection from Basic Grey for this organizer.  Seems odd that I may have used a "love" themed paper pack, but then I thought the love theme does not have to just be about a person, it would be about something I love to do, and crafting is right up there at the top of the list.  So my box is all about my love for crafting!!!

6x6 Paper Pad, Journaling Stickers, Element Stickers, Journaling Card Sheet

This is one box of the Deflecto Stackable Cube Organizer "X" Divider.  I used two of these units side by side attached wit the provided clip to hold them together.  You could add ad many of these unit together as you want, just keep clipping them, you can can them a large box, or more of a liner unit, completely up to you!!

I used the Xyron Mega Runner  to hold all the papers together, but then I used the Creative Station with the 5" Laminate and Permanent Adhesive on the back to make each section stronger, water proof (well really mist in my case), tear resistant, and prevent it from peeling apart.
Here are some up close shots of the organizer with and without supplies in them.  The bonus to this unit is I get bored with the designs of the papers I used, I can also pull them off redo it and make a brand new look for myself!  I could even make different looks for each season, Valentine's is already done now!!

I all about organizing this month - how about you?!?

So here we go, start the hop with us and two random people will win a $10 Die~Namites Gift Card to buy in our store.

Tip of the Day
I loved the feel of this new die "Heart Ribbon" from Die~Namites, but it was just too big for the tag with the tails on it, so I cut them off!!  Don't be afraid to alter your dies if they don't fit what you need.

I then took the ends and brought them together to make a complete heart.  One die can have so many uses if you think outside the box with them!!

Wish Card **Die~Namites & Creative Embelishments & CCB & Xyron**

My parents anniversary is coming up at the end of January and I wanted to make a special "frosty" card that is both whimsical and beautiful.  When you have a wedding January in Canada you are going to get a snow themed card!!

I took a different direction with the colors, staying with pastels to keep it soft and ethereal.   I used lots of layers here with die-cut paper, chipboard, and "snow" texture to create a winter wonderland type of card.

I used 2 different Die~Namites dies "Frosty Snowflake" and "Winter Floral".  I cut the snowflake die out from ivory cardstock and layered it under the blue flower.  I then cut out 2 "winter floral" swirls in a yellow dot cardstock and had then flowing out from under the top left cluster going down the left side of the card and then also along the top right, framing the top left corner.

Amazing new dies are now available in the store!!  Check them out HERE!

I then added lots of Creative Embellishments "Chipboard Snowflakes" shapes painted in light blue and placed them around the card, tucked in here and there.

Snowflake set and "Dream" word set
I repeated the same technique of painting the CE "Wish" word from the "Dream" word set in light blue, then after everything was glued down and dried I added a ton of "Snowtex" texture medium to give it this frosty feeling all over.  Adding globs of in in the corners, on each of the chipboard pieces trying to catch the corners and edges for the "snow" to rest on.

Nothing is better than a handmade card for those that you love, it means so much more then just going to a store and buying one!!  So happy anniversary to my parents, 46 years and going strong!!

"heart" mixed media canvas **Die~Namites Dies & Creative Embellishments & CCB**

I love creating mixed media canvas with the little 4x4 canvases from Canvas Corp, perfect little space to get my creative juices flowing but not spend hours or a ton of supplies to make a cute little project.  It is also a great way to try out a new technique, color palette, or idea on a small scale to see if it works!

I use the fun January inspiration from Creative Embellishments as my launching pad for this little piece, thinking of texture, color, and the mix of cold and warmth with a steampunk feel.  I love the way the gears and snowflakes work together!!

Come join in on the CE Monthly challenge.  You have until the last day of each month 11:55 pm eastern time to enter.  It is required that you mention in your blog post that you are playing along at Creative Embellishments together with a link back to our blog. Please make sure to reference our challenge. Please no back linking.  Combining with other challenges is permitted.  PLEASE USE AT LEAST 1 OF  CE products on your projects.  WINNERS will have 2 weeks to claim their prize. The winners are announced the day after the challenge ends and on the same month’s challenge post.

I used various chipboard gears from 3/4", 1", and 1.5" and also the snowflakes from Creative Embellishments for this project.
I layered the project on the canvas with tons of added texture (snowtex) and them misted with reds and blues.  I then cut out 3 Die~Namites "Frosty Snowflakes" and 1 "Heart Ribbon" on Canvas Corp kraft paper and used various Tattered Angels mists, paints, glimmer glams in gold, reds, and bronzes to add more texture and depth to them all.

Amazing new dies are now available int eh store!!  Check them out HERE!
