Felt Gnome Upcycled Etched Candy Jar Toppers

Gnomes are all the rage, and they are super easy to make with a jar, some felt, and glue!!  Check out below for how to make them!

This post also contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.  Various companies provided me with some product to create this project.  The opinions I share are solely my own.

Check out the super short video below to see how to make these fun winter gnomes!

To start with I save my glass jars.  These are a trio of jars that had barbecue sauce in them, so I just washed them really well and pulled the labels off.

I then etched one the jars to give it a frosted look with the Etchall Dip and etch liquid.  I love the look of a frosty jar, and it makes it even more wintry too!!

I just love the look of the frosted glass with candies in them!  You do not even need to frost the entire way down, because the gnome toppers cover up the top.

Then it is just about placing the felt gnomes on the top.  I started with a 9 x 9 inch square of felt and added glue along the top and edge to make a cone (see video to learn how to do it).  The added a little triangle cut piece of faux white fur for the beard and a wooden bead for the nose.

If you make your cone tighter it makes the gnome sit higher up on the jar as the cone is smaller, if you make the cone larger then it goes further down the jar.  I love that all three of my gnomes have different heights, and I also put in different candies in each jar!

What color will you make your gnomes?

Felt Monster Tooth Fairy Pillows

My younger two kids are at the age when we are losing teeth, so I thought lets make some cute tooth pillows to add to the fun of losing tooth.  So instead of the generic tooth fairy, we made tooth monster pillow, which are the shape of a tooth, but flipped upside down!  Add a little pouch in the front and make it all out of fun colors of felt and you are set!

Check at the bottom of the post for the GIVEAWAY info!!

This post also contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.  Various companies provided me with some product to create this project.  The opinions I share are solely my own.

Here is a video on how to make these fun pillows

A few really simple supplies are needed to make these cute pillows.  First I start by making a paper template of a tooth, which is the monster flipped upside down, then a few fun colors of Kunin felt, some buttons, and a needle and thread.  I also used some Joy Iron on Varsity letters for the back of each little tooth monster so my kids would not fight over whose was whose, let's hope that works, hehe.

I started off making the orange pillow as my practice one, but shortly after my son came over and asked to learn how to sew.  AWESOME!!!  He is 8 and I fully feel that everyone should learn the basics of sewing with a needle and thread.  So half of this little orange monster he sewed all on his own!

I then make the blue one for the video, I changed up a few things, like sewing on all the teeth and altering the shape a tiny bit, but really these are so easy and fun it is a great starting off project for kids to learn how to sew.  They are both filled with Fairfield World Poly-fil as a stuffing!

So to stop the kids from fighting we put the first initial of each kid on the back of the pillow.  They are Joy Iron on letter in the Varsity font and perfect for this project! The blue one my son picked for himself, so he got the black B on the back.

My daughter picked the orange monster as her tooth pillow, so she got a red C on the back.

What color of tooth monster will your little one pick to make?

Autumn is Here - DIY Pine Cone Fox & Owls -- Plus 3 Autumn Cards for Inktober

I love autumn, and the crafts that surround the autumn season the amazing colors I think are the best!  Check out a couple of cute DIY pine cone animals I made with felt, plus a trio of autumn inspired cards that also have felt on them!!

Various companies provided me with some product to create this project.  The opinions I share are solely my own.

Let's start with these super cutie pine cone felt animals in a fox and an owl  Learn to make them in this video below!

This fox is super easy to make, a little Kunin felt, scissors, Supertite Glue, and a pine cone and you are set to go!  Some basic shapes of circles and triangles are really all you need to cut out the shapes for this cute fox!

The owl is just as easy to create.  This is mostly circles for the eyes and then layered tear drop wings.

To hold all the felt to the pine cone I used Supertite All Purpose Universal Glue, sticks like magic!

Since I had made this fun pine cone critters, I thought how cute it would be to make one of the felt faces on a cards.  The first card I made an I created an extra fox face and used it on this autumn card.  This card uses a fun ink technique for Inktober of using a square ink pad and making a fun background.  Check out the video below to see how!

On the next two card I used a little peach flower cut from the felt in the clusters.  For the first card I used the same brown ink but did a swiping method to create the background.

For the last card I used a simple swipe method on the edge to give it the illusion of another layer of color.

Check out the video on how to make these!!

I used the same glue as I did for the felt pine cone for these card to help hold all the various layers together.  One glue can really do it all!

What are you going to create this fall?
