Enjoy Tag **Die~Namites Dies & Tombow** Blog Hop

Hello and Welcome to the
Tombow USA and Die-Namites Blog Hop!

http://www.die-namitesblog.com/

You probably got here from Daniella Hayes' blog but if you stumbled across my blog go the Tombow USA Blog to start!

Here is my project using Die~Namites Dies and Tombow, such a great pair!!  I used Paper House papers as the base of the tag, and then added in lots of little layers, stickers, and diecuts!!

I used the wonderful "Poinsettia Duo" Die~Namites Dies in the top corner and also as the main focal point of the tag.  I then used the wonderful Tombow Dual Brush Pens in Black and White to accent around the layers of the tag and on the die-cut.  I also used the wonderful adhesives to hold everything together.  I used the Tombow Stamp Runner for all the paper layers (perfect for those small pieces that you can just stamp on the adhesive) and the Tombow Aqua Mono Liquid Glue for the delicate die-cut flowers.

Quick Cards **ScrapPlezier**

I wanted to create some quick and easy cards to have on hand in case I needed one quick.  For instance a last minute birthday party, thank you, for the kids teachers, etc that I may not have had a chance to make a specific card for that event I have some generic cards on hand ready to go.

Directions for the Cards
  1. I made 8 card total (4 masculine and 4 feminine) using 1 sheet of cardstock and 2 half sheets of patterned double sided paper.
  2. I cut the cardstock in section 3 x6 inches and folded them in half so the cards are 3 x 3 inches square.
  3. I then cut the patterned paper (Kasiercraft Utopia and Lorie Valley Collections) into 3.75 inch squares, and then used the back side to make 2 inch squares of the Utopia paper and 2.75 x 1.5 inch rectangles for the Lorie Valley paper.
  4. I inked all the edges of the papers and glued them down as seen in the picture.
  5. I used various colors of mist to color the diecut shapes (“sweet”, “thank you”, gears, camera, and frame) from ScrapPlezier in silver, gold, red, white, purple and pink.  I did this first to allow them to dry while I did the cutting and inking of the cards, then I used my heat gun to finish them off so I could glue them down.
  6. I then added them to the center of the little cards
These quick cards only took me 15 minutes!!!

Soccer **Paper House & Xyron**

My boys both played soccer for the fall and spring seasons of 2014, for Brandon it was his first time and Morgan his 4th.  They loved it, getting out there and kicking the ball was so fun for both of them.

I used the wonderful Colorways Black and Emerald paper lines with the Soccer Cardstock stickers, Puffy Stickers, and Soccer Snapshots Stickers from Paper House to create this layout.  The color of  all these elements work so well together it just gives it a wonderful flow and allows for both the colros of my boys uniforms to stand out!

http://www.paperhouseproductions.com/

Since they played 2 seasons each, they had 2 different uniforms, but I could not find a good way to fit the extra picture from eh spring season into the layout - the colors did not fit nor the extra picture, so I tucked it under the title sticker "Soccer" - and yes they are wearing 2 different colors of blue and it was a nightmare!!

For each of the boys action shot sequences I framed my favorite picture with a wood frame from Unique Laser Designs with their name on it in stickers.  It really helped that one picture pop!

These Snapshot stickers are wonderful!!!  They have such great dimension and I love the little clips and says on them!!

Paper House is having a wonderful giveaway of the entire collection of Snapshot sticker!!!  Just use the raffle copter widget below to enter!!!

Mining Tour **Canvas Home Basics & 7 Gypsies & Tattered Angels & Tombow**

On a trip to Colorado we took a small day trip to a old mining camp.  We got to pan for gold and copper, and actually go in the mine to see how it worked from 150 years ago until the mine closed 50 years ago.  My kids had a blast seeing how everything work, especially panning for "gold",  The American Vintage Collection was perfect for this layout as our tour and experience was all about Vintage America!!  My picture we nothing like what you see, the kids were all wearing all bright colors, and the mining hats and clothes were all bright yellow, they did not go at all with the colors of the papers.  So I printed all the pictures in black and white (but this did not look good either) and instead of wasting more ink or money printing I used my chalk ink in a light brown and turned each photo in a vintage look by inking over the entire front of the picture, note to self to print in sepia next time!!

I love the concept of the papers with the experience we had while on this little fun trip.  I used the "Go and See" for the wonderful quotes and sayings, the front and back of the "Across the USA" for little words and also as the background page, various American Vintage cards and tags, and even the wonderful Gypsy Moments Cards work wonderfully with this collection too!!

I loved the idea of pointing to the location of trip on the map, so I used the cap from the Black Magic Glimmer mist and coated it with the liquid and create a ring around the location.  I then used 2 "vintage" 7 Gypsies arrows (see even the retired items rock) to emphasis the point.

I used a lot of other wonderful 7 Gypsies, Canvas Home Brands, and Tattered Angels products on this layout including manila envelopes, white cord rope, cardboard flute tiles, various washi tapes, keys, red clothespins, silver metal studs, burlap flag mini shapes, Black Magic Glimmer mist, Tattered Leather Glimmer Mist, and Plain Jane Red Rose Spray.

vin 2

I love the striking look of the red with the vintage feel of the papers, and to have the clothespins hold up my pictures look so cute!!  To darken the red a bit I just inked the top with some light brown ink. I also wanted a darker feel behind the pictures so I sprayed the burlap flags with Black Magic Glimmer Mist and darkened the white cord the same way.  I used may payers of the washi tapes (some from Canvas Home Basics and some from my stash) to create the base for the hanging pictures so they were not just floating on the layout.

I found this "vintage" 7 Gypsies metal "share" in my stash and had to use it, it worked so well with the cut out word moments to say "share moments" - how fun!!

Journey **Canvas Home Basics & 7 Gypsies & Tattered Angels & Xyron & Paper House**

I took this selfie of myself on our vacation to Colorado last year.  I was watching my kids fish and playing with taking a picture of myself but still showing the beauty of the lake behind me, then I played with Instagram and all their color choices it gave me and I loved the feel of this one when I saw it.  I have been waiting to scrap it since I took it, and this collection was just perfect!!  It was the right mix of grunge and art and the colors of the picture and the papers were amazing together!!

journey - w

I used the wonderful "State Plates" and "Go and See" along with sections of the American Vintage Journal Cards to create this layout.  I loved the idea of the state plates, because it reminded me of all the places I have been or want to go in my life (and that is just the US).  And the "Go and See" papers are just full of these amazing quotes, I used "not all the wonder are lost", "keep the desire to explore", and "replace fear with curiosity".  All of these quotes just reminded me of how I felt when I look at this picture - hence the title "The joy is in the Journey not the Destination".

I paired these wonderful papers with lost of bits of bobs from Canvas Home Basics, 7 Gypsies, and Tattered Angels to create this grungy bit of art - Clothespins in White and Chocolate, White cord rope, Camera charm, Burlap, Manila Tickets, Satchel Glimmer Glam, Black Magic Glimmer mist, Tattered Leather Glimmer Mist, Plain Jane Peach, and High Impact White paint.

I used layers of gesso with stencils and added layers of the Glimmer Mists and Glimmer Glam on top with the High Impact Paint to achieve the look I wanted.

journey 2

I then added in the layers of papers, embellishments, fibers, clothespins, stickers, cork, and pictures and added in a few fun items like charms and flowers to top it all off.
