How to Make 15 Christmas Cards from 1 Card Design

I am hosting a Christmas Card Swap this year and I am making some cards to put into the swap.  I get a little board making the same card over and over again, so this time I prepped a ton of supplies and made 15 cards with the same basic design, but each cards is just a little different!

Here is a video on each card that I made and how they are all a little different.

Check out my video for my HUGE CHRISTMAS GIVEAWAY!!  A chance to win my amazing Christmas Kit seem below!!!  This kit is over $77  worth of supplies from Tattered Angels, Canvas Corp, and 7 Gypsies!!

Here is an overview of the entire kit!  To enter just subscribe to my YouTube Channel and leave a comment on any video using my kit!!

It all start with this one card as my main inspiration for all the rest of the cards.

I then took that idea and had some dun playing with how to make it a little different with the color of the card base, fold of the card, color of the strips, background paper, and embellishments.

So have fun making cards this holiday season, and no one says they have to be identical!!

Turn Paper Tubes into Farmhouse Decor

I love to take something that is usually a trash items and make it into something amazing.  I have been saving these paper tubes from a table set we got because I knew they would make something wonderful and be a ton better than in a landfill.

Here is a video on how to make these farmhouse style decor pieces.

I used some very basic colors for the tubes to allow me to use them for more than just one season.  I kept to neutral colors of cream, Kraft, brown, and tan, with one little pop of red, but the red can be used for Autumn, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and even 4th of July!

To change the season you want to use it for, just add something inside like flowers that are colors of the season like these beautiful fall flowers.

These are super simple to make.  Start with the paper tubes, and the cut the papers to size and using the Xyron Creative Station Lite turn all the little papers into stickers to stick to the tubes.  I love Xyron adhesive, no mess and no fuss and works like magic!!

Add some burlap and twine to the top and you have a fun little decor piece.

You can use the tubes for more than just flowers, sky's the limit on what you can place in the little holes in the top, even use them for storage of pens, paint brushes, scissors and more!!

So before you throw something away, think how can I alter this to make something amazing!!!

Torn Apart - "Blue" Art Journal Page - Art Therapy

There are times in your life that art is the only release, even when you do not even realize it is a release for you until after it is complete.  Art can be one of the best forms of therapy out there.

This art journal page is in a journal from Tina Walker, and the entire book is all about blue.  I have had it for a little bit of time, not really sure what I was going to do in it for a while, and then about 1-2 weeks ago I started forming my plan for my page.  I also go the amazing chance to work with TCW, using their stencils and mediums to create this page.  I knew my project as a guest designer for TCW was to go live on Oct 31, and even agreed to this date over 2 months ago, after all it is only a date and my project will be done well before the actually release date, but as I watched my video editing it for YouTube, I realize my subconscious is desperately seeking a release even if my conscious is not fully aware of what is happening.

My late daughter’s birthday was yesterday, she passed away at the age of 4 months very unexpectedly, and to this day her birthday (she would be 9 years old) and angel day are the hardest days I have to endure.  Art has saved me, the release into a world of paint and mediums is my release of my anger, frustration, sadness, longing, and hurt.  Everyone always says that art can be the best therapy out there, and even when you are not fully aware of what your heart needs at that moment the art can speak for you, give you that release.

As I watch the progression of my art journal in edit mode while doing my video I see the happy circles of my life and my family, and in that next moment I cut my art in sections, fragment it all into bits.  I take those circles and cut them in half, place them upside down and have no semblance of reason, like what happened to my family all those years ago.

My heart breaks for all those of you who have lost a child in any way, in womb or after.  That child still is apart of us,  she or he is not here and we all remember that day our heart was fractured and never fully healed.  I must stay strong for my family, for myself, for my other children, for if I let this sadness over take me I will never return.  Art is my therapy, and is has been since they day she left my arms.

Happy Birthday Kristen
