6 Crafty Tips, Tricks, and Ideas for Using Nested Wafer Thin Dies

I love dies, they are so versatile and useful for all kinds of crafts using paper and more!!  Here are 6 tips, tricks, and idea for your nesting wafer thin dies.

Here is a video tutorial for each step below in more detail.

1. Basic Cuts

You can use you die to create basic cuts with any of your die cutting machines.  Here is a simple tag example.

2. Thin Layered Cuts

You can nest the dies into each other to create thin cuts and then stack them into each other for a fun effect.

3. Window Cuts

Cut into a card with a shape to make a window.

4. Partial Cuts

Off center the die to make a partial cut, then you can layer it back into itself for a fun look!

5. Embossing

Use the reverse side of the die to create a light embossed look.  You can also take a pen and outline each shape for a more dramatic effect.

6.  Stacking Shapes

Cut out shapes of different sizes from the nested dies and stack them on top of each other for a really fun effect.

Nested dies are really the most versatile dies out there, so many possibilities for creating all kinds of amazing paper crafts.  What will you create next?

DIY Pineapple Clips on a Gift Tag

I got a chance to play with some cute little pineapple stamps, I am on a pineapple kick lately, hehe.  So I wanted to make something that is fun and cute, and why not a little pineapple on a clip to give away as happy mail?!?!?  But why not go a step further and add it to a little tag and make it a fun little clip on a tag for a fun little gift!

Here is a video on how I made these fun little pineapple clips on a cute little gift tag!

I used the Xyron Tape Runner to add some transfer foil to the parts of the pineapple.  Did you know heat transfer foil works with your tape runners too??!?!  I paired it with matching colored ink from Brutus Monroe and they looks really cool!!

The stamp set from Newton's Nook is so cute (link below), and it has a matching die set too!!  Perfect for making these sweet little clips, and it had a perfect little sentiment for my tag as well!!

I love that the top and bottom of the pineapple are separate stamps, this allowed me to make the parts of the pineapple the correct colors of green and yellow!  Using my Xyron Create a Sticker to make the prices sticky to adhere to the clip was so easy!

Christmas Tags Part 3 **Paper House & Plaid & ScrapPlezier**

Here is the last installment of my Christmas tags that I made for my mother, got to love that vintage rustic feel of these lovelies!!

I used the wonderful "Winter Wonderland" stickers from Paper House to create these three tags.  They just fit so wonderfully with the themes of the tags!  I also paired these products with the Plaid paints and mediums, they just make everything sparkle!!

Here you can see some of the wonderful dimension of the stickers and the shine of the Mod Podge Extreme Glitter medium on the chipboard over the Look At Me Blue FolkArt paint by Plaid applied by the foam brush from Plaid.

I used the same Mod Podge Extreme Glitter medium on the chipboard but this time over Wicker White FolkArt paint by Plaid.  The sparkle just enhanced the skate sticker from Paper House.

This last tag I paired the epoxy Sleigh Rides sticker from Paper House with a mix of Bark Brown and Cardinal Red FolkArt paint from Plaid on the chipboard swirl.

I also used the wonderful washi tape, pearls, papers, and gems from ScrapPlezier to complete these very special tags.  Don't forget to check out ScrapPlezier for their latest challenge!!

Christmas Tags Part 1 **Susan K. Weckesser & ScrapPlezier**

My mother was looking at my scrap table when she was in town during Halloween and asked if I could make her some pretty Christmas gift tags (To and From tags) to put on her presents she was giving away this holiday season.  Here is the first set of tags I made for her.

For this set of tags I used the wonderful supplies from ScrapPlezier and stamps from Susan K. Weckesser.  I have this wonderful stamp set from Susan K. Weckesser that is all about snow, and it has 3 stamps in it, so I used each stamp on each one of the tags.
