Felt & Foil Upcyled Firecrackers

I love to take and item that usually would go into the recycle and make it into something new and fun.  That is exactly what I did with these 3 tubes; pringles can, paper towel roll, and packing tube.  I turned them all into a 4th of July firecracker home decor decoration with a little felt and foil!

Here is a video on how to make these fun firecrackers!

The supplies are pretty basic - some felt, Rinea foiled paper, star dies, glue, and some repurposed tubes.

I started with the Pringles can first and made it all full of stars and fun.

A little flair at the top with the Expo International Inc. pompom trim.

Each firecracker has a Kunin felt star and a Rinea silver star at the top.

Cutting out the stars is super easy, check it out here!!

I then made the firecracker that looks like an American flag.

Adding in those Rinea Silver Starstruck textured stars really makes this whole tube pop!!

Using a pinking shear scissors on the Kunin felt makes it super easy to create a fun border to add as a swirl effect to the last firecracker.

I love the little gems around the tube, it just really makes every things sparkle!

What types of 4th of July decorations do you make?

DIY Colorful Glass Bead Flowers

I love to make little pretty things for my garden, so even when the flowers start to fade in the summer heat I have something pretty to help add a touch of color to my plants.  This little touch of pretty is so easy and cheap you have to make them today.  So go get some glass beads and make some glass bead flowers!

Here is a video on how to make these fun glass flowers!

You start off by etching the glass beading in Etchall Dip n Etch solution to give the beads a tooth for the Sharpie to stick to so it will not wipe off.

The you color the beads that have been etched.  Mix and match the clear beads with colored one, and have some fun with the colors and designs.

Using a bamboo skewer as the stake, glue all the sections of the flower together with Supertite Multi-Grab 360 Glue.  It is water proof and has amazing hold.  Let the flowers set overnight for the best results.

Using 7 glass beads to make a flower, as one for the center and 6 surrounding it, there are so many options for color and design.  This is a simple one with e yellow center and pink petals.

You can also switch out the glass beads that are not etch and change up the colors for each petal for some fun.

On this one I made some fun designs on each petal with a mix of blue and black.

I love the feel of the different colors of green paired with the clear glass beads and the dots in the middle in black.

For this one I just mixed up a ton of fun colors my daughter picked out, she even helped me color the beads for this one!

I just love these I might keep them inside my by desk!!

They even look pretty with real flowers!!

So what crafty fun things do you do with glass beads?
