DIY Etched Hula Themed Drink Cocktail Glasses

Summer parties are the best, and so are the fun cocktails that you have at the parties!!  So why not make the glasses a bit of fun for this fun event!!

This post also contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.  Various companies provided me with some product to create this project.  The opinions I share are solely my own.

Check out the video to see how to make these fun cocktail glasses!!!

I first stared out etching the Dollar Tree glasses with Etchall creme and vinyl to make the V at the top of the glass mimicking a shirt.

I then took some Expo trims fringe and flowers to make the hula skirt at the bottom of the glass.  The fun part is these little hula skirt are reusable (as is the Etchall creme) so you can use this for more then one party!!!

Just check out the etching on the glass, it is so fun and easy!!

These little hula skirts also work as a fun way to make sure know whose glass is whose if you make each color of fringe and flower different!!!

DIY Beach Themed Memory Game Using Scrapbook Paper

Such a fun idea to make your own games for the summer - not only do you get the fun of making the game, but then you also get the fun in playing the game.  My daughter loves to play memory, so we took some scrapbook paper and had a blast making our own game with a beach theme.

This post also contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.  Various companies provided me with some product to create this project.  The opinions I share are solely my own.

Check out the video to see how to make your own memory game!!

My daughter and I started out picking out fun papers.  Scrapbook paper is easy, especially the ones that are already segmented into 3x4 sections.  We found a fun summer beach pack from Paper House and cut out the paper we wanted, the best part was the paper pack had multiple sheets of the exact same paper with a white background - perfect for memory.  We then placed the cut cards, we made 24 cards total, so 12 pairs and ran them through the Xyron Creative Station with the laminate refill.

We decided to laminate all the papers to they would last longer and be water proof!!

They are super easy to cut out, scissors glide through the laminate paper like butter!

Then it is just a matter of playing a game, or 10!!  Fun way to use up your scrapbook paper and make a great game for the kids!!

Decorate with these Watercolor DIYs

Creative pursuits are a great way to relieve stress and express yourself. And while many people may think that they aren’t talented enough to paint, they do, in fact, have skills to execute watercolors that are vibrant and delightful. And there’s a great way to use those watercolors, too—to dress up a workspace.

Fortunately, putting together your own watercolor projects is less expensive than you might think. Let’s start with dressing up a calendar with ombré colors, a pattern that shows no signs of abating in popularity. It comes together with items that you can find in virtually any big box or craft stores, including gift tags and rub-on letters.

And then there are phrases that help to motivate you or have special meaning. Those are perfect subjects for do-it-yourself artwork from watercolors, too. Plus, to trace what you need you just require a window. Want more instructions? This graphic explains it.

Mixed Media Shabby Chic Steampunk Junk Journal

Sometimes getting all painty and messy is all part of the fun of making art, this is what a junk journal is all about.  There is no reason, rhyme, or way to do it - you just create and go where you want to with it.  You can use anything and everything in your journal.  Really it is just what inspires you, a chance to really just create with no boundaries!

This post also contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.  Various companies provided me with some product to create this project.  The opinions I share are solely my own.

Check out my video tutorial below!!

Make sure to check out all the other amazing designs using A Vintage Girl products from the wonderfully talented DCC designers.  Click on the link HERE or the graphic below to see them all!!

I started with the A Vintage Girl chipboard items to create this junk journal, and the journal is part of it too!!  My front cover is filled with layers of stencils, bling, flowers, papers, and just steampunk fun!!

I then moved onto the 2nd and 3rd pages.  The back cover of the front page is more like a scrapbook layout, but instead of pictures, they are cut outs from a 6x6 scrapbook paper.  The 3rd page is a section of the A Vintage Girl book that looks like a gear.  I added paint and layers of metal elments until it felt right.

For the 4th page, I gave a bit of relief just just painting the the chipboard and adding a layer of stencil work.  The 5th page is another layered mixed media page fill with elements of all types, really playing up that huge gear chipboard item from A Vintage Girl.

Junk journals are so freeing, and the best part is I can always add more to this book by just opening up the binder rings.  I only used half of the original book, so plenty left to still create!!

There is also this fabulous prize you can win from A Vintage Girl! Visit Designers Crafts Connection to find out how you can win.
