Welcome to Our First Birthday Ice Cream on The Beach Blog Hop
I’m so happy that you stopped by, if you came here from Kristin's Blog you are in the right place if not please stop by Frosted Design were the Hop starts.
You need to know this to enter to win the grand prize: Do you like to listen to music while you scrap, if so what kind? I would love to listen to music when I scrap, but alas I do my scrapping after my little ones go to bed, so I need to keep a ear open if they wake up, and my littlest one always does, but if I could listen to music it would have to be a mix of rock, pop, and metal!!

Post by July 11, midnight CST to be in for the random drawing of my RAK!!
For this week’s challenge at Frosted Design (Recipe Challenge: Ribbon/trim, charm, rhinestones/pearls summer celebration (beach, pool, birthday, picnic, etc.) I used a picture of our family at the beach in June. I saw this great idea for a picture, take a picture of the feet. I did not have to worry if everyone was looking at the camera, if someone's eyes were closed, or how I looked in the picture, plus and it was fast and easy to do. I have 2 little boys (1 and 5) so to get them to pose for a picture is a nightmare, so this little idea was my solution to the family picture (plus I did not have to find someone or worry about a tripod to get everyone in the picture).
Truth be told I have never used a charm on a layout before, then I thought about my little charm bracelet that was tucked away in my jewelry box from high school (it had cheap little charms on it, and I never wear it). On it I found this little dolphin, so on the page it went!! I now has a fun little use instead of collecting dust in a box. I then used some fun shiny string to tie the charm to the chipboard button and viola done, charm and trim done)!!
On to the pearls, I chose pearls over rhinestones mostly because of the beach connection, oysters and pearls!! Now we did not see any oysters or have any to eat, but they really just worked much better over all, especially with the glitter floral parts I sued for seaweed on the page. These "faux" seaweed strands were from Michaels in their after Christmas sale. It was in the bins with all the floral decor, they had tons of glittery shiny stuff for about $.10 a bunch. I bought all different shapes, colors, and textures. I used parts of 3 that I found that worked just perfect for this. It is always so fun to used found objects on pages!!
Thanks for looking and reading, now for you to hop along to the next person in the blog hop Amanda.
