Masculine and Feminine ATC

I have never tried to make ATC's before, but a fun challenge started this month over at Swirlydoo, and I had to try a couple.  ATC's are little trading cards artist make to show what styles they have, they are 3.5 x 2.5 inches, and the sky's the limit on what you can do.

I opted to use the same paper line (Capella) by basic grey, and show how to create a masculine and feminine.  For the feminine card I used a cameo pin that was pulled apart, and layered under it a printed transparency, and pretty colored papers that matched.

For the masculine card I used a picture of my son Brandon, and for this I cut a small section of his face only showing one eye, and half of his nose and mouth.  I then layers the paper uneven below, and used eyelets to hold the chain in place (the same chain from the cameo broach I pulled apart).  I then used a small brad to balance out the chain and the eyelets.

Seeing both of these side by side you can see the similar colors from the paper, but the difference in the feminine and masculine.

  6. Erin, that masculine card is amazing! I love the picture of your son of course, what a cutie...but the way you showcased it is wonderful. I love the distressing, the chain and that you have metal on the card. I think they're all great touches on a masculine card. Thanks for playing along with the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. Hope to see you again soon.
