Upcycled & Repurposed Popcorn Tin into a Trash Can that is a Work of Art

I love having a little bit of decor the the most random of all places, including my trash can!!  I took an old popcorn tin and turned it in a trash can for my craft studio and made it some extra special!!

I started with a really bright red tin, but I covered it with a layer of gesso to make it white, and then a layer of teal paint - because I love that color!!

 I then used a pretty stencil with some silver gesso to apply the design and make it amazing!  The Dynasty stencil brush really made this step super easy!  After the stencil dried I also applied a layer of clean gesso to the whole tin to seal in all the paint and make it a little more scratch resistant.

Last I applied a circle of felt around the bottom of the can so it would not scratch up my floor or be noisy.  I used the Supertite Multi-grab 360 glue for a good firm grab between the tin can and felt.
