How to Make Inspirational Sticky Notes

I love being able to use up my scraps of papers in my stash but also make something useful.  I found some old sheets of papers (and I mean old, like over 10 years old for some) of scrapbook paper that I thought would be fun to make into DIY sticky notes with my Xyron Creative Station.  I did not want to just make plain old sticky notes, I wanted something that had an inspiration note on it each day, so stamps to the rescue!!

Here is a video tutorial on how to make these fun sticky notes with a little heart.

I started with some papers that have been in my stash for ages, and I wanted them thin, more like stick note thicknesses of paper, not a thick cardstock.  I love being able to use up supplies in my stash and I have had some of these papers for ages!!  I started by cutting the scrapbook sheets down to a 4x4 size.  I then stamped each page with a fun sentiment from various stamps sets I had in my stash that all had positive emotions tied in with it.

I then added the stamped papers in to my Xyron Creative Station to make the tops of each paper sticky like a sticky note with the 9in CS Repo Adhesive Refill.  This is super simple and such a cheap way to make sticky notes, and the best part is you can make them any color you want!!  I then attached the set of sticky notes all layered on top of each other onto a mini sign holder as a stand.

Now I can tear off sheets as I want and each one has a inspirational message on it to give me all the warm fuzzies.

You can keep this fun sticky notes set for yourself, or give it as a fun gift to someone special.  It is great as teacher gift, mother's day gift, grandparents gift, or Valentine's Day gift!  Even the kids can get into it and help make sets!!

Altered Ikea Tin Craft Storage Hack

I love being able to store my crafty supplies in a easy yet beautiful way.  I craft all the time why not make my crafty supplies look good too?  See how to turned some simple Ikea tins into some really cute crafty storage.

Here is a video on how to make these shabby chic crafty storage tins.

This fun storage idea is also in the Bella Crafts Winter Edition with full step out instructions!!!  It is a free publication, so check it out!!

Did you Know that Xyron Creative Station can ad adhesive to more than just paper, it stuck everything but the flows to this tin!!!

I started off with a couple of cute tins from Ikea, they are nice and small and a perfect fit for small thing like pens and tools on my craft desk.
I added all kinds of fun elements to the tins from iron on letters, burlap, paints, mesh, bling,a nd even some flowers!  To label the tins I used the iron on letters on the burlap rounds.  I could not fit the extra "s" onto the round shape for the tools, so I just left them singular.

Are you organizing for the new year?

Like this idea?  Check out this one over at favecrafts!!

Trio of Mixed Media Valentine's Day Cards

I love to make cards for swaps, and this time around I am hosting my own card swap with the theme of Valentine's Day.  My goal is to make 20 cards, and here is the first set of 3 for me to make!

Here is a video on how I made the cards and some info about the swap.

I got the amazing chance to use make the cards with some amazing partner companies, Helmar adhesive and Rinea.  All month long there will be some amazing creation with both companies and the design team from both companies.  Make sure to check out all the wonderful project for January!!

I just love the ebony starstuck papers from Rinea, they went perfectly with the hot pick splashes of color on the cards.

If you are interested in joining my card swap make sure to check out my FB group for all the details about the swap.  Deadline to post your cards in Feb 1, 2018 - so check it out soon!!

Here is another fun card from the trio, each one was just a little different from the others in just a tiny little way.  Do you see the difference?

Check out the video for the last of the trio of cards, it is the one I made in the video.  Are you making card someone special this year?
