Simple and EASY Newspaper, Tissue, and Paper Towel Flowers

Making art out of simple things is wonderful.  Take a little bit fo newspaper and some glue, you can make amazing flowers!!  I learned how to make flowers using two different EASY methods, that evenr kids can do.  My 5 year old had a blast making the flowers right next to me.

Here is a video on how to make these wonderful flowers, two different methods!

You start with some pretty easy materials.  Some newspaper, but I acutally used the circlar ads that come in my mailbox since we do not get a true newspaper, and some Supertite White School Glue.  This glue is amazing since it has the lowest chemicals of any kids glue out on the market!

Coupon for 10% off your Supertite order of $5 or more

We also did a few flowers in tissue paper, the smae paper you use for packing or for gift bags!

A little bit of mist on the flowers and they look amazing!!  I used the Dragonfly Tattered Agnels Glimmer mist on the flowers above and below.  Thge flower above is using the twisting method in the video.

The flower above is using the rolling flower method.

We also misted a few flowers in Party Pink Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.

I tried a few flowers using the tissue packing paper, they are fuller and just as fun to make!

When using mist I always put a paper towel under my projects to aid in the cleanup process.  This time instead of just throwing then away, I thought why not make a flower of the paper towel, it looks a lot like a tie dye shirt!

Here is a video on how I made these fun paper towel flowers!

Since I used two colors of mists, some of the flowers became a two toned color flower, and they are still all held together with Supertite White School Glue!

What do you make flowers out of?

Altered Ikea Tin Craft Storage Hack

I love being able to store my crafty supplies in a easy yet beautiful way.  I craft all the time why not make my crafty supplies look good too?  See how to turned some simple Ikea tins into some really cute crafty storage.

Here is a video on how to make these shabby chic crafty storage tins.

This fun storage idea is also in the Bella Crafts Winter Edition with full step out instructions!!!  It is a free publication, so check it out!!

Did you Know that Xyron Creative Station can ad adhesive to more than just paper, it stuck everything but the flows to this tin!!!

I started off with a couple of cute tins from Ikea, they are nice and small and a perfect fit for small thing like pens and tools on my craft desk.
I added all kinds of fun elements to the tins from iron on letters, burlap, paints, mesh, bling,a nd even some flowers!  To label the tins I used the iron on letters on the burlap rounds.  I could not fit the extra "s" onto the round shape for the tools, so I just left them singular.

Are you organizing for the new year?

Like this idea?  Check out this one over at favecrafts!!

DIY Pencil Flower Bouquet Teacher Gifts with FREE Printable

I love to give a little something to my kids teachers at the beginning of the school year.  This year my daughter really wanted to help, so we made something cute, easy, and fun - a pencil flower bouquet using my flower stash and is a useful item for the teachers too!!

Here is a video tutorial of my daughter and I making these fun pencils flowers.

My daughter had a blast making thee fun little pencils, and that is only part of the fun.  Now she gets to pass them out to her teacher as a gift on open house!  Each teacher, including my son's teacher, gets a little bouquet of pencils flower as a fun thanks for having me this year!

These would also make wonderful teacher appreciation gifts, end of year gifts, or a gift for a teacher to give students!!  The list goes on for what you can use these for!!

Adding the flowers to the tops of the pencils is so easy with the Xyron Creative Station, it turns every flower into a sticker.  So easy my 4 year old daughter can do it.!

I also love projects that use up part of my crafty supply, and I have so many flowers that I want to find fun ways to use them all up.  So this is one of many ideas that you can make with you flower stash!

I made the printable in the school colors, but you can also print it off in black and white.  Here is the printable link, and it is FREE!!

EASY Ink Background Techniques **Giveaway**

I love to do different background techniques on my card, tags, journals, and mini books.  Here is a couple of fun and simple techniques, one I did on a card, using mini square inks.  I personally used the Brutus Monroe Inks, but any little inks in any colors will work.

Here is a video on how I made the card and did the technique.

GIVEAWAY

This video is also part of a summer loopy video hop.  Watch the videos and comment on each one, subbing each channel (only 5 videos total) and you have a chance to win some amazing prizes including stamps, stamping platform, and tons of other fun stuff!!!

This fun technique works for any colors of inks, personally only used green, but a multicolored looks is amazing too.  My friend Nadine made an amazing card with the multicolored inks, amazing!!!

Now do not forget to use up the rest of the ink on your craft mat, it make for a wonderful watercolor background!!!

So have some fun with your inks and play with making a cool background!!  Thanks Nadine for an amazing technique!!
