Thankful Candles **Birds of a Feather & Tombow & Canvas Corp**

I wanted to give a special thank you gift to my kids teachers for all they do, is that not what Thanksgiving is all about?  I have made cards and other items in the past, but this time I thought what could they use on Thanksgiving day to brighten their mood - a candle!!

I wrapped each candle I bought from the dollar store in Canvas Corp Burlap and then added in layers of punched leaves from the Nov Birds of a Feather Kit papers.

I used the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (Crimson and Butternut Squash) and Plain Jane Baseboard (Daffodil) to color the leaf punched paper to make them have autumn colors. Some a colored completely some I left a blended color.

I then wrapped the leaves, burlap, and candle with the green cord from Canvas Corp and added a couple large flowers to the front with a sticker in the middle saying "Thank You"  I then added in a couple more punched leaves this time using a dark brown paper from the kit and glued them on top of the cord.

I used the wonderful new Tombow Xtreme adhesive to glue the leaves to the burlap, flowers to each other, keep the cord in place, leaves to the cord,  and to give the stickers a little extra stick so they would not fall off being handled so much.  Even after my little kids holding them not a thing fell off, just amazing for a tape runner!!

Christmas **The Robin's Nest & ScrapPlezier w/Tombow**

Every Christmas for the past 8 years we have gone to the breakfast with Santa with my parents.  These pictures are form the last two years.  Catherine was 4 months old in 2012, and for most of the breakfast she slept, even in Santa's arms. Then came 2013 and Catherine was 15 months old, she would not stop screaming and crying, so we now have the typical crying baby photo with Santa.  Both years the boys loved going to see Santa, they had plenty of time to tell him everything they wanted and eat as much as they wanted too!  I personally love this tradition we have started as it gives us plenty of time to take pictures, it is nice and relaxed, there are not tons of people, and I love the pictures it get from it.

I used the wonderful products from The Robin's Nest and ScrapPlezier to crate this layout.  For more details about the Robin's Nest products please go visit their blog.

To mat all the pictures, and also as the background to the entire layout I used the wonderful Black and white Holly Glitter cardstock from The Robin's Nest.  The back side of the Holly paper is this wonderful muted red dot pattern on it, and it fit the pictures so wonderfully, I used the same paper for the journaling strips.  Around the edges of the mat on the pictures I added in the holly from the Christmas Rub-ons from The Robin's Nest.  I then added in a strip of  the Flame Glitter Swirl Cardstock behind the pictures running the length of the layout, those gold glitter stars rock!!

I used the gold and black Dew Drops from Robin's Nest to anchor the small picture, and the corners of some of the papers on the layout.  The add just the perfect touch to any project.!!  Here you can see the journaling strips that I used with the back side of the Holly Glitter Paper.

I used the Black Glitter Cardstock and used a swirl die cut to make the black swirls behind the small picture to match the effect of the pair of pictures below, even adding in the holly leaves, berries, and the twine.

Tucked behind the swirls, berry vines, and flowers I cut out the dark red tree and bright red glitter tree from the Christmas Tress Glitter Cardstock.  I thought they matched the feel of the paper behind it and added a lovely layer to the page.  The back side of this paper is black, and I used it as the backing to the entire layout.

Thanksgiving Place Cards **Birds of a Feather Kit & Canvas Corp**

I am hosting Thanksgiving this year so I wanted to make place cards for the table.  Once I saw the Nov Birds of a Feather Kit I knew I had the perfect supplies for my place cards!!

The front of the card is 3.5 x 3.5 inches.  I cut a strip 3.5 x 10.5 inches long, and folded over a 2 inch strip at the bottom, then folded the next section at 3.5 inches, then another at 3.5 inches, this gave me a strip of paper that had a 3 folds with 4 sections measuring 2 inches, 3.5 inches, 3.5 inches, and 1.5 inches.  I then glued the 1.5 and 2 inches sections together at the bottom making the short end of the triangle at the bottom.

One step done for Thanksgiving, 100 more to do!!

Daughter **ScrapPlezier & Susan K. Weckesser & Canvas Corps**

This is a picture of my sweet daughter Catherine and I playing around last spring.  She just loves to be tickled and to be held upside down, and the wonderful photographer caught me playing around with her to get her in a good mood for the pictures we were about to have. Sometimes it is the pictures you were not intending on taking are the best!!

I used lots of layers per my norm, I just love layers!! It adds such a depth to any project, keep it from being so flat even thought it still is mostly flat, as it is just paper and ink.  I used the center of my papers as the focus of the layout, and just let the beauty of the doily edge around the outside shine.  The papers all came from ScrapPleizer - they have such a wonderful selection of Kaisercraft that all work so well together!!  Head on over to check them out, they have some great challenge there too!!

I love Susan K. Weckesser stamps, they work for so many projects.  Here are some of my favorite phrases.  One is "Celebrate the Simple Things" and boy is this true, never forget the little things that make life so full of joy!!  I used it here as a subtitle below some of the layers.  Here I also took the wonderful Glimmer Glam from Tattered Angels to paint the chipboard title "Daughter" from Want2Scrap.

Here I took two of the phrases from the stamp set below "Create your Day" and "Don't go through life grow though life"  as they both just work with this picture so wonderfully.  I stamped these along the side of the layers as seen in the picture above.

From the same above stamp set I also took the phrase stamp "Homegrown Love On the Home Front" as used it randomly around the page for lots of subtitles and also to add an even more distressed look to the page.

Mountin Man **Paper House with Xyron**

My father's birthday has just past and I made this wonderful card for him.  As of late we have visited him in Colorado where we fish, hike, and just enjoy nature, he has become the "Mountain Man" complete with beard and hat!!

  Great Ourdoors Xyron Blog Hop

Come join in on the fun of our Great Outdoors Co-Hop with Xyron, and what a week this is going to be! Not only will we have some great projects to show you, but you can win some great products each day from Xyron. AND, if you hop over to Xyron's blog each day as well, you can win some great products from Paper House!

I used the wonderful "In the Wild" Paper Pad by Paper House Productions with the "Gone Fishing" page front and back.  I cut out a section in the bottom left corner measuring 4.75 x 6.25 inches on the front side, then matted it with the backside adding 0.25 inches.

The paper itself has this wonderful shiny metallic tot he cattails bursting from the bottom of the page, and they match perfectly with the "Mountain Man" sticker from the 3D sticker pack "Out in the Country" by Paper House Productions.  The sheen and depth to these stickers is just amazing!!

I used the wonderful Xyron adhesives to glue to papers together and also to help glue some of the little alpha sticker to the paper.  My 2 year old daughter got a hold of the stickers and took away the stickiness of some of them, so I zipped them thorought the Xyron Sticker Maker and poof they were sticky again!!

I could not resist to decorate the envelope too, of course by request from my children, they even helped!!  I thought that the other stickers in the "Out in the Country" were just too cute to not use so they help me place them on the front and back.  I did add the little tackle box sticker to the back of the envelope from the "Grandpa" 3D sticker pack from Paper House and then gave it a title of Grandpa.

I always find it harder to make a card for a man than a woman or child, so I hope this gives you some great ideas for the men in your lives!!
