Etched Bottle for Dry Goods Storage

I love to take an object and instead of throwing it away for putting it in the recycle bin, turn it into something functional again.  I needed a new storage item for my dry good, and instead of going out and buying something new, let change an old bottle, etch it and make it beautiful again!

Here is a video on how to make this glass food storage item.

I started with a sherry bottle that I washed and took the label off and then etched (to see how please view the video).  I used the amazing stencil from Stencil Girl called Beacon.

I used the Etchall Stencil Spray to stick the stencil to the bottle.

Hey guess what, Etchall has an amazing coupon code to pass along to you for playing along in the hop!!

I then added the Etchall etching creme to etch the beautiful designs on the bottle.

Wash of the etching creme and you have a beautiful design on your bottle!!  I used mine to store forbidden black rice.

I love the look as it sits on my kitchen counter!!

Altered Mosaic Painted Bottle

I love to keep fun shaped bottles to alter in the future, and this Old Monk bottle looked too cool not to save with all the design that was just begging to have something done with it.  I had been saving the bottle for the better part of 2 years when the perfect project came along with the paints from Marabu, a match made in heaven!

Here is a video on how to make this bottle.

I started with an empty Old Monk Rum bottle.  It has a ton of nooks and crannies to create something really cool.

I used the Marabu glass and porcelain paint and paint pens to color all the amazing little parts of the bottle to make it look like a giant mosaic work of art.

I used the color straight out of the paint pots of the Marabu Porcelain Paints, from the Marabu Porcelain & Glas Painter Pens, and also mixed the colors to create new ones like teal and purple.

I coated the large section on the back, top, and front with the black paint.  I still have a space to add something fun to the back if I wish.

I also used the same paint to color the heart and flame pieces glued to the front of the bottle.  I also added a little flair with some chains and a heart pendant.

To top it all off I also added in some tear drop crystals to the top as a stopper.

What fun upcycle project have you done lately?

I was playing a bit with the projects when I first got them, on a porcelain tile to see how they all worked.  Check it out here!

There are some amazing projects by the rest of the designers in the Designer Crafts Connection.  Click HERE or the graphic below.

There is also an amazing prize to be won.  Marabu will give away (US only) a nice random assortment of products (approx retail value $75) in a Facebook prize drawing that will be posted on the Marabu facebook page.  All you need to do is comment to enter!!

Witches Brew Potion Bottle - Stencil Etched Halloween Decor

I love to save my bottles for fun little decor items, and this time it is some fun potion bottles for Halloween.  I love the idea of being able to transform something simple into something amazing, like a barbecue bottle into a magical witches potion bottle.

Here is a video on how I created the bottle.

I used a spiderweb stencil and the NEW spray adhesive from Etchall with the etching creme to create the spiderweb look on the bottle.  With the grey color inside the bottle the etching looks amazing!!

I loved adding on all the little gems and metals pieces to bring the look together, like a potion bottle that is ready to be sent into a witches brew cupboard.  Almost like it should be a bottle in a potions class in Hogwarts!

"Wings" Mixed Media Steampunk Bottle **Creative Embellishments & Canvas Corp Brands**

I love to get my hands dirty and just play with the mediums I have on hand.  My inspiration came when we finished our bottle of maple syrup and thought I could alter that, it had such a nice flat front perfect to layer things onto it!!  I have had it sitting on my desk for the past 2 months waiting for the perfect spark to take me to the next step with it.  I then got my batch of Creative Embellishment chippies and in it were some steampunk wings - perfect!!  The last piece fell into place when I got the Tattered Angels Cruising Calendar kit of Glimmer Mists, I know had the perfect colors to go with my idea.  Now to make it!!

Here is the complete process video from empty bottle with the labels peeled off to completing.

Below are the amazing supplies I used to create the colors and some of the little bits and bobs that helped bring this piece to life.
