Mixed Media Stenciled Box

I got asked to be apart of this amazing crafty adventure of creating art with only 2 simple rules; one, use a box that was mailed to me in any way I wanted to, and two, use a StencilGirl® stencil in some way.  I decorated my box in a mixed media style and had a blast doing it!   #theplainboxsociety  #stencilgirl

Check out how I made my box here.

We each started with a plain box mailed to us by Tina Walker for StencilGirl®.  For all the other boxes that were made check out this link HERE.  This is what the box looked like when each of us got it.  Over

I first started with using the stencil on tissue paper with metallic modeling paste and letting it dry.  I also took Tattered Angels mists in Dragonfly to color the box.  I then added the layers of tissue to the box and added in littel Rinea foiled stars to the box and splatters of black glimmer mist.  I used Supertite White School Glue to stick everything to the box.  It works amazing and the applicator tip is perfect for applying a small amount of glue to any project!

I added a newspaper flower to the top of the box.  Check out how to make these flowers in the video below.

I used the same Supertite White School glue for the newspaper flowers, it is perfect!!

I used the same color mist on the box as I did for the flowers to help tie in the whole effect.

I even colored the inside of the box so when you opened it it had color throughout.

What would you do with your box and stencil?

Inspire **Tattered Angels & ULD & Imagiantion Crafts**

For the past couple of years my parents have bought us a box of really yummy chocolates for the family and it comes in this wonderful hinged box.  I have kept the boxes with the hopes of doing something with it for the past two years, and finally the inspiration hit - mixed media box!!  I really just let my imagination fly on this one.

For steps on how I made this wonderful mixed media box please see my guide below using the wonderful Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, Glimmer Glam, and High Impact Paints, Unique Laser Designs wood, and Imagination Crafts Stencils, Sparkle Medium, and Mica Powder.

I just love the wood items from Unique Laser Designs and how they just make the box pop and add wonderful dimension to everything.  Here are the pieces I used for this project.

I used the wonderful stencils from Imagination Crafts, they added the perfect texture to the box.  Adding to it the wonderful Mica Powders and Sparkle Medium helped make this box just shine!!

I used some of the wonderful paints, mists, and glazes from Tattered Angels to help create the dimension and depth for this box.  I used a wide range for products all in the colors of blue and purple.

Sweet 'Stache **ScrapPlezier & Paper House**

I made a box for my daughter and my son Brandon we completely jealous and asked me to make one for him.  I had another box on hand, and went in a very masculine direction with this, adding in the cute little mustaches, keeping the colors masculine, adding in some texture, and just making it grungy.  Now he has his own little “stache” box for his little stash of goodies he collects.

I used some of the wonderful items from ScrapPlezier to create this fun little box.  I first started with a box I had in my stash of items and inked the edges in black.

I then took strips of papers from Kaisercraft (Pickled Pear Paper Pack) and made strips across grey cardstock on the top of the box.  Then I added in these cute little die cut mustaches from ScrapPlezier, inked them in black, and later added in Graphite Paste on top to give them texture.  I also added in some black jute around the edge of the box.  You can also see the wonderful Washi tape from ScrapPlezier along the edges of the box.

Here I added in the wonderful chipboard alpha from Kaisercraft available at ScrapPlezier, painted in white, and then traced with a black pen.  I also added in a fun little sticker from Paper House to finish the look.
