Ultra Violet Paint Pouring - 4 EASY Puddle Techniques

I have always wanted to try paint pouring, and it s fun, messy and takes a ton of paint, but fun!!  So with my crafty friend Tina Walker doing a challenge to use the new Pantone color Ultra Violet I thought it would be a fun use for using the color of the year.

Here is the video on how to make these fun pours.

For all the pours I used the puddle method.  Each pour I did something a little different to see if they would work better or have a different result

1) Multiple Puddles Plus added Paint from Bottle
My first pour I did 3 small puddles and I also added a little blue and black paint straight from the bottles without adding any pouring medium to the paint.  I also add a very little paint to this pour so i moved it around a ton to get lots of extra lines.

2) Three Large Puddles
My second pour I used more paint and did 3 large puddles before swirling the paint around.

3) One Giant Puddle and Heat Gun
For this method I used one giant puddle and a ton of paint.  I then used my heat gun to move the paint around to give it coverage.

4) Adding Glitter to the paint with Multiple Puddles
I added some chunky glitter to the silver paint to see if it gave it a different effect.  It turned out really cool!  The glitter shows up a ton better in person on on the video!!!

Each pour had something different about that I loved.  I really am not sure which I like more.  I took the extra paint in the tub after the pours and painted some playing card for future ATC's and some plain cardstock as background paper for fun.

I used a heat gun on the paint as it was drying to get some cool texture.

I love this background paper, if would have made more but I ran out of drying room on my desk!  Now just what to use this cool paper with, hmm....

Fun & Funky Mixed Media Art on a Stick

I love creating just to create, with no real plan in mind just make something fun, funky, and go with it to make me happy and maybe to push myself to try something a little different that I normally would make.

Here is a video on how I made this art piece.

This is how my art on a stick was born.  I had some amazing stencils from Rita Barakat along with her Art Fomies stamps, paired with a few supplies I had laying around my desk that I was just dying to use (the frame and art stand) it turned into something kinda cool.

I used the Colorique ink paired with Crafter's Ink from Clearsnap to add color to the entire project, from painting the frame, coloring the base, and also coloring in the eye.

I have never been taught how to draw faces, or anything beyond a stick person really, so with the stencils from Rita Barakat it makes it super easy to create this amazing eye!!

Just remember to think outside the box on your projects, it can push your limits of your creativity and also make something really fun and funky!!

Bold Geometry - Abstract Mixed Media Art **Tattered Angels & Canvas Corp & Beacon & Makin's Clay**

I had an itch to create something difference, something a little bit messy, something a little bit mixed media.  I love shapes, so I took a run at some color blocking, but I had to do it my way.  A little mist, paint, texture paper, cardboard, canvas, stencils, and more was just right for me!

I made this piece to be placed in the Tattered Angels section of the Canvas Corp Brands booth at Creativation 2017, formally CHA also knows now as AFCI.  Here is a video of how I made this piece.

All of this is held in place with various types of Beacon Adhesives including 3 in 1 Glue and Fast Finish Decoupage.

All the mists and paints are from Tattered Angels, and so are most of the mistable papers.  All of the other papers, textures sheets, burlap, and canvas are from Canvas Corp.

I even added in some air dry clay from Makin's Clay for some extra circle shapes!

I hope you enjoy my mixed media art fun!!  Here is my piece at the show!
