A Journey of Miles **ScrapPlezier & Paper House**

My husband has his birthday coming up and I love to make him a card for his special day.  He is not into glitter, glitz, or glam so simple is the best way to go for him.

I created this card with the wonderful products from Paper House and ScrapPlezier.  The papers and Ink are all from ScrapPlezier (Kaisercraft Lorie Valley Collection and Ranger Distress Ink Fired Brick).  When I saw this collection it just screamed masculine to me.  Head on over to ScrapPlezier for their wonderful challenges and awesome store full of wonderful goodies!!

The wonderful stickers came from Paper House.  I just love the look for their new Cork'd sticker line and I always am a fan of their Chalkboard stickers too.  When I saw how well they fit together, it was a match made in heaven!!

Love ***Imagination Crafts & Unique Laser Designs** w/Tutorial

With Valentines Day coming up I wanted to make a sweet card for my wonderful husband.  He is the world to me.  He is my best friend, the love of my life, and completely balances me in every way.  Who could ask for more!?!

I just love the stamp from Imagination Crafts, it just begged to be made into a card, and the feel of the design is love - perfect!!  In the tutorial below I will explain how I used the stamp, Mica powders, and Wood to create this wonderful card for my husband!!

Uses of Mica Powders Tutorial

1) I first started off with the large square stamp with the flowers and writing.  I used the red and brown powders seen below and inking the stamp with VersaMark I stamped the image on cream cardstock and used red on the flowers section of the stamp and brown not the script using a brush to apply the powder to to the image.  I then cut this image out.

2) I then stamped the flowers and vines the same as the large image - vines in brown and flowers in red powder.  I then fussy cut these items out and placed them on the card as seen and added a little bit of detail sparkle in a dark red to the flower's centers.

3) Now for the wood.  I used two different types of wood items the "LOVE" title and two little hearts from Unique Laser Designs.  The have a beautiful natural finish, but I wanted them to fit with the colors of the card so I again used the Mica Powder to cover them.

4) I used the same application as the stamps, press the wood into the VersaMark ink and apply the powder with a brush, this time in red for all the wood.

5) I use a small brush to first apply the powder to the sticky wood to coat it.

6) I then use a larger brush to brush away the extra powder.  The shine on these is beautiful!!

Valentine's Day is coming up really soon, don't forget to make something special for those that you love!!

I Adore You **Tattered Angels & Canavs Corp & Off the Rails**

I wanted to make a Valentine's Day card for my backyard neighbor.  She has been so sweet to me since we moved in by having my kids over to play, bringing me a bottle of wine, inviting us to parties, being my ballet instructor, and just being sweet.  I could not ask for a better neighbor!!  So why not give her something unexpected with a sweet card, Valentine's Day is not just for your partner/spouse/lover it is also for those you care about!!

Inspiration for this card is the mood board below from Off the Rails.  I just loved the feel of it, it seemed romantic and flirty, so it made me think of Valentine's Day.  You can join the challenge using this mood board until the end of the month!!

In the center of the card are two little envelopes from Canvas Corp, I wrapped them up in Pink twine from Canvas Corp and cut out a heart from canvas and sprayed it with Tattered Angels Black Cherry Glimmer Mist, wrapped it in natural twine, added a strip of hearts paper,  and then topped it off with the super cute little cork sticker from Paper House.

Inside each of the envelopes I added a little card for each of the little girls in my neighbor's house, they need Valentine's too!!  I simple cut out paper to fit in the envelopes (2.25 x 3.5 inches), added a little square of kraft paper, and a punched heart from a hot pink paper.  On the back I simply wrote Happy Valentine's Day to each of the girls.

Behind the enveloped I used the Valentine's Paper form Canvas Corp and backed it with kraft paper all inked in a red chalk ink (Rose Bud) from Prima.  In the end I spattered the entire card with the same mist as above by unscrewing the applicator and tapping the end of it around the card to make splatters.

Pieces of Me **Canvas Corps & Imgaination Crafts**

I wanted to create a piece that was about me.  I used my favorite colors (blue and green), flowers, sparkles, mists, paints, gesso, beads, and and more, so much more!!  I really just ad fun with it, and played with the elements not worrying about but just had fun!  This is really my personality in art!

I started with a 4 x 4 canvas from Canvas Corp and flipped it around using the backside as my starting point.

I painted it with various colors of mists, paints, and stains in the colors of blues and greens from Tattered Angels.

I then took random puzzle pieces let over from sets from my kids (all sizes, all shapes) and used the back side of each of them.  For some of the pieces I used gesso on them to give the paint more to sick to, but for some darker mediums I just painted it straight on.  Each puzzle piece is a different color, medium, stain, paint, mist, etc.  I just played.  I then layered the puzzle pieces as though they were exploding from the inside of the canvas out, placing layers upon layers of pieces (about 40 total).  I then added in Sparkle Medium and Mica Powders from Imagination Crafts, beads, and other fun bits on bobs that fit in the colors of blue and green.

I then added in the beaded strings coming fro the center and topped it off with e pretty flower.  The title is "Pieces of Me" because each pieces of the puzzle is something that I love, whether it be color, the type of medium, the arrangement, the sparkle, etc - it is the type of artist I am.

Beautiful **Unique Laser Designs & Imagination Crafts & Paper House***

I love having tags on hand to add to presents instead of cards, and with all the little girl birthday parties I will end up going to I know this little beauty will come in handy to add to cute little gift we will give to the birthday girl.

I used the wonderful wood butterflies from Unique Laser Designs at the top of the tag.  They are just to cute and sweet and perfect for this little tag!  I love a plain look as seen below, but for this tag I wanted them to sparkle, but not too much.

So I first pressed the wood into the embossing medium (like Versamark) to amek it "sticky" for the mica powders to stick.  I used a pale pink color to match the colors in the tag and just used a small dry paint brush to apply the powder tot eh sticky wood.  I used the wonderful mica powders from Imagination Crafts.

The shine and shimmer is just beautiful when it is done, it just catches the light perfectly, and it will not rub off!!  There is no drying time so to make these little shiny gems is super easy and fast too!!

For the main part of the card I used the wonderful Paper House papers and stickers.  Their cute Little Girl Quilt paper just begs to cut cut apart and used for a tag, and the little Puffy stickers match perfectly.  I topped it off with a chipoxy "beautiful" sticker from the Mom sticker pack, but every little girl loves to be told they are beautiful!!
